5 ways to collect Email Addresses

Why would you want THOUSANDS of email addresses? So you can make HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! Once you have the product or service, you need to generate sales with as little effort and expense as possible, Email can be the solution. Any email campaign starts with a strong list. It starts with YOUR list. You need to build it, manage it and nurture it so you can build YOUR dreams. Without a good email list you won’t be able to make email marketing work for you.

Here are 5 ways to collect email addresses:

1. Subscriber box
You should prominently provide a email subscriber box on each of your site’s web pages. This will significantly increase your sign-ups. Some of us use ‘squeeze” pages just to generate email lists. I only ask for the first name and email address, I can get the rest of the information as I build a report with the prospect.

2. Pop-ups
This is one of the most misunderstood and underused methods to capture emails. It is highly effective and can put your information right in their face. Of course, you must do this tactfully and tastefully. Use a pop-up window on entry or exit – they are both effective. Many small businesses have seen 200-500% increase in opt-in subscribers

3. Advertise Your Autoresponder Address
Many small businesses will run ads advertising their web site. That’s o.k., but, a smarter way is to run ads or promotions and use an autoresponder email address. Why? You will capture all email information from interested prospects AND the autoresponder will be set-up to automatically deliver your promotion to people that request it AND send out automatic Confirmations and Thank you letters PLUS do automatic follow-ups. From this one method you can make contact with your customer 4 to 6 times. Now THAT is relationship building.

4. Give-Aways (free eBooks, software, etc.)
Using “bribes” such as “give-aways” are highly effective means of capturing emails. You barter your give-aways for their email address. People will respond to an incentive that has perceived value and are willing to give you their email address in exchange. Even though people are becoming more hesitant to give out their email addresses for fear of rampant spamming – they will IF your incentive is big enough.

5. Capture Emails by ASKING for them.
Most brick and mortar stores and businesses completely miss an opportunity to capture the email addresses of their customers. Nowadays, it is common to communicate solely be email, so why are you not asking or the email address as often as the phone number? Any time a customer or prospect phones you, walks in or does business with you, it is a perfect opportunity to capture their email address.
